Tim divides his time between teaching at Wilson Hall, a private school in Sumter, SC; and making functional ash glazed pots. It's a constant balancing act trying to develop as both an artist and a teacher. In 1994 Tim received his BFA in Art Eduation from The University of South Carolina in Columbia. Since then he has taught in both public and private schools, and has been a South Carolina Artist in Residence.

Most of Tim's inspiration is derived from the natural textures and colors found in the swamps, fields and ponds of Central SC; and the rock formations of the NC mountains, where he spent several years of undergraduate study.

Tim is a member of the Midland Clay Arts Society, and the National Art Education Association. His work can be found at Tom Gray Pottery in Seagrove, NC, the Historic Camden Gift Exchange in Camden, SC, and The Art Shop in Sumter, SC.
